“Once is Never Enough” exhibition

September 4th, 2013 · 52 Comments

Saturday, September 7, 2013     6:00pm until 9:00pm

The MINE Factory Gallery

201 N. Braddock Ave., Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15208

AAP Group Show. Curated by Vicky A. Clark

Curator Statement:

I have always been fascinated by Josef Albers’ Homage to a Square. Can’t say I like it much - too analytic and cold for me - but I was amazed that the series interested him for so long. In a similar way, I like the way that Martin Prekop keeps adding to his ranch-style house in Fox Chapel. Every time I visit, there seem to be more mirrors attached to the exterior bricks. Both artists are obsessive in a good way, and once is never enough for either one of them. This exhibition brings together AAP artists who have that same gene and exhibit the ability to return to something - a theme, a process, a form, etc. - again and again.
